A fresh batch of 3967 pilgrims on Tuesday left for ShriAmarnath Cave Shrine in South of Himalayas amid “Bam Bam Bhole” chants andrains from Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar base camp here. The fleet of 167vehicles ferrying pilgrims was escorted by CRPF personnel in jeeps and onmotorbikes.
However, for Pahalgam route, 1741 male, 455 females, 35children and 121 sadhus left the base camp in 93 vehicles and for Baltal, 1112male, 485 females and 18 children left in 73 vehicles including buses and LMVs. Total167 vehicles left the base camp for both the routes including 63 HMVs, 97 LMVsand five motorcycles.
The first batch was flagged off from here on June 29 by theAdvisor to Governor K K Sharma.
Multi-tier security arrangements have been made for smoothand successful conduct of 46-day long Yatra concluding on August 15 on theoccasion of Sharavan Purnima (Rakshabandhan).
